I don't know, some of the skeptics in the comments section make some excellent points. There are a number of factors affecting crime rates, and the Sheriff's efforts may not be as large a factor the editorial makes it out to be.
It is nice to see a smarter approach to the crime problem, but as Chance points out, there are some good comments that are quite insightful further down the article. I wonder if the writer and the Sheriff are drinking buddies? :-)
