If you have expertise in a particular aspect of crime and intelligence analysis or information that would be valuable to other analysts, please consider becoming a guest on
Analysts' Corner on Blog Talk Radio. Share a tip to make analytical work more effective or tell us about your methods, programs and/or resources. All that's involved is scheduling a workable time slot (any time total of 15 minute increments) and calling a specific number on your telephone after we agree on a topic for the interview. It's fun! Email me at analystscorner@gmail.com with your ideas.
I'm an analyst, though not on criminal intelligence. One of the techniques I feel is valuable is Heuer's Analysis of Competing Hypothesis (ACH) methodology. Many analysts are familiar with the method, but I don't know too many who actually use it. This is likely because it is time consuming, and isn't the answer you get may conflict with your "gut", but it has never led me astray yet.
