Trends Influencing Policing, Trends Influencing Terrorism

I served as a panel member on the two Proteus Trend Series February 2008 reports linked below. As a co-trainer listening to a module on strategic analysis in a Foundation of Intelligence Analysis Training course in Winnipeg today, I realize these reports may be of use in thinking more about these questions: What is strategic analysis? What can influence our work in the future? How does public safety of all sorts fit into the framework of projected global changes?

Top 5 Intelligence Analysis Methods

Top 5 Intelligence Analysis Methods is from Mercyhurst Professor Kris Wheaton's blog Sources and Methods. I seriously believe that if we were to clearly articulate some of the analytical techniques used in crime analysis better, we could add value to the broader fields covered in this blog post, as well as to policing. The artisans in analysis must codify their great skills for the sake of improving the work of all.

Invitation

If you have expertise in a particular aspect of crime and intelligence analysis or information that would be valuable to other analysts, please consider becoming a guest on Analysts' Corner on Blog Talk Radio. Share a tip to make analytical work more effective or tell us about your methods, programs and/or resources. All that's involved is scheduling a workable time slot (any time total of 15 minute increments) and calling a specific number on your telephone after we agree on a topic for the interview. It's fun! Email me at analystscorner@gmail.com with your ideas.
